EU AI Act, Article 4

The law changed in July.

Now, organisations that build or use AI must take steps to support the AI literacy of their staff and anyone else using AI for them, such as contractors. The steps should fit each person's knowledge and the setting the AI is used in.

This is where AI Upskill helps. Our courses are built to meet the Article 4 duty, with the certificates and sponsor reports that show it.

Compliance is the basics, not the aim. Our aim is real education and real skills, so your people reach your AI objectives. How we teach beyond the duty

What the duty asks

Who

Every organisation that provides or deploys AI in the EU, of any size, in any sector. Staff, contractors and anyone who uses AI on your behalf.

What

Measures that support AI literacy, fitted to each person's knowledge, experience and training, and to the setting the AI is used in.

When

The duty took effect on 2 February 2025 and was updated on 27 July 2026.

Proof

An AIL cert (AI Level certified) for each learner at each level, and a sponsor report of completion and scores you can keep on file.

  • A human answer to every help request within two working days
  • Expert help for your people after the course, included in the seat price
  • Expert on Call when your organisation needs more
